About Legendary Te Kūiti
Legendary Te Kūiti (LTK) is a volunteer run organisation that was originally established by the business community of Te Kūiti over 14 years ago.
Legendary Te Kūiti develops projects that enhance the safety, security and attractiveness of Te Kūiti as a place to live, work and conduct business for benefit of the whole Te Kūiti community.
As an organisation we promote Te Kūiti and surrounding area, foster community pride, facilitate quality community relationships and promote local businesses
What we do
Our large scale projects continue to be popular with the community and visitors alike such as the Colin Meads Statue, The Legends Gallery and Photo Boards (currently displayed in vacant shop windows).
We run all kinds of events, Business after 5, Legends Breakfasts, guest speakers and have a presence at local events. We've set up an annual Business House Pub Quiz. We run community clean ups and CBD enrichment projects. We organise the shop local campaign at Christmas and run the Christmas night market. We love bringing Santa along on his sleigh every Christmas Parade.
We dress the Main Street mob to show support for events, causes and community activities.
We publicly acknowledging a wide range of achievements by those of the unsung heros of our community through the awarding of our Legends Trophy.
We connect with the community through face to face relationship building, via social media and directly to our members through email and quarterly newsletters.
We promote our local business and community members on social media pages.
The outcomes our mahi is aiming to achieve
Creating a healthy community that has positive self-image and fosters aspirational choices in rangatahi.
Give a sense of ownership over the achievements members of the community have made past and present.
Creating a safer community with an appealing well cared for CBD with a thriving business community that helps foster pride in our surroundings.
